Algae
The frequency and intensity of harmful algae blooms has increased worldwide in recent years. Our bays are suffering in part due to pollution and the storm water runoff-soup that includes high amounts of fertilizer. This extra nitrogen levels add an overabundance of nutrients to the water and feeds algae blooms. These paintings depict my interpretation of the algae that currently or in the future could affect our wetlands.
